New Delhi. Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) President Mukesh Sahni, who is part of the grand alliance of the opposition in Bihar, has announced not to contest the assembly elections. He said that this time I will not contest the elections. Our aim is to form our government in Bihar, go to all 243 seats and campaign and the emphasis will be on how to win as many seats as possible. On the question of going to Rajya Sabha, Mukesh Sahni said that after forming the government, he has to become the Deputy CM here, not to go to Rajya Sabha. On how many seats VIP will field its candidates, Sahni said, everything will be clear in a day or two.
From Mukesh Sahni’s decision of not contesting the elections and the answer given regarding seats, it seems that the dispute regarding seat sharing is still going on in the Grand Alliance. Earlier there was a discussion that Mukesh Sahni would contest from Gaura Bauram assembly seat of Darbhanga district, but now Mukesh Sahni has nominated his brother Santosh Sahni from there. Let us tell you that RJD has already given the symbol to its candidate on Gaura Bauram seat, and now Mukesh Sahni’s brother is also going to contest the elections, so in view of this, it is being expected that RJD will withdraw the symbol from its candidate.
There is a discussion that Mukesh Sahni is adamant on the demand of 15 seats for his party VIP whereas Tejashwi Yadav wants to give him only 10-12 seats. For this reason, consensus is not being reached between the two. It is noteworthy that elections are to be held in two phases in Bihar. Today is the last day for the first phase of nominations, so till now the matter is stuck on seat sharing in the Grand Alliance. On the other hand, all the constituent parties of NDA have announced the names of candidates for their respective seats.
