Pune. The case of offering Namaz came to light in Shaniwarwada, famous as the palace of Peshwas located in Pune city of Maharashtra. A video of Shaniwarwada had gone viral on social media. In which women were seen offering namaz. There was controversy when this video went viral. According to media reports, Pune Police has now taken action and registered a case against three unidentified women for offering Namaz in Shaniwarwada. A case has been registered against the three women under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites Act 1959. The women have been accused of illegal activity in the historically protected Shaniwarwada.

The incident of offering Namaz in Shaniwarwada, Pune is being reported around 2:45 pm on Saturday afternoon. After its video went viral, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) lodged a complaint at the Pune City Police Station. This matter has also gained momentum. Expressing anger, people from Hindu organizations including BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni protested in Shaniwarwada and performed purification puja at the place where namaz was offered. Politics also heated up in this matter. Peshwa of Maratha Empire lived in Shaniwarwada. Tourists coming to Pune definitely visit Shaniwarwada. There is also a tomb in the Shaniwarwada complex. Hindu organizations have also demanded his removal.
