Patna. There are 4 districts in Seemanchal region of Bihar. There are 24 assembly seats in Seemanchal area. These include 4 assembly seats in Kishanganj district, 6 in Araria, 7 in Purnia and 7 in Katihar district. Congress, which is part of the Grand Alliance, had fielded 12 candidates in Seemanchal. Whereas, RJD had fielded candidates on 9, VIP on 2 and CPI-ML on 1 seat of Seemanchal. This area is Muslim dominated. Because of this, the RJD led grand alliance was expected to get good results here, but the ruling NDA took the lead. BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad has also thanked the people of Bihar for rising above caste and religion and voting for NDA.

As of 2 pm on November 14, 2025, NDA candidates were ahead in 18 out of 24 seats in Seemanchal, Bihar. The special thing is that NDA had maintained its lead on 3 seats of Kishanganj also. Whereas, NDA was never ahead in elections in Kishanganj. The number of Pasmanda Muslims is high in Seemanchal area. It is believed that Pasmanda Muslims saw their future better in the NDA government and once again voted to form Nitish Kumar’s government. However, NDA has been ahead in Seemanchal earlier also. However, this time there has been more discussion about Seemanchal area, because BJP has made a big allegation of there being infiltrators here and they are getting support from the opposition.
If we look at the results of Seemanchal area during Bihar Assembly elections, in 2020 NDA had won 12 out of 24 seats here. Whereas, the Grand Alliance had won 7 seats. At the same time, 5 seats went to Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM account. Earlier, if we look at the results of 2015 Bihar Assembly elections, BJP had won 6 seats of Seemanchal. Whereas, at that time JDU was in the grand alliance of the anti-NDA opposition and it had won 6 seats. Whereas, Congress got 8 seats and RJD got 3 seats.
