Nearly 500 two-wheelers were gutted in a fire that broke out in the parking area of ​​the railway station in Thrissur, Kerala on Sunday. Fire and rescue service officials gave this information.

The official said that the fire broke out in the parking area at 6.20 am and the fire department received information in this regard at 6.40 am.

The probable cause of the fire is being said to be a spark from an electric line. The spark had fallen on a two-wheeler which was covered.
 
Officials estimate that around 500 two-wheelers were parked in the parking lot and most of them were burnt to ashes in the incident.
 
Officials said five fire tenders were deployed and the fire was brought under control at around 4.45 am.
 
All necessary steps were taken to prevent the fire from spreading to the railway station platform and causing further damage.
 
The official said an engine was parked on the railway tracks near the spot where the fire broke out, but the railways did not confirm any major damage to it.
 
Apart from the two-wheelers, the entire shed covered with tin sheets was also damaged in the fire, the official said.
