Big news related to Noida International Airport being built in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh has come to light. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate this airport on 28 March 2026. With the commencement of this project, the pressure of passengers at Delhi’s IGI Airport will be reduced and the people of Western Uttar Pradesh will get direct international connectivity.

Important information and rules related to Jewar Airport
The airport has received aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation i.e. DGCA. After getting this license, it has now become legally possible to operate aircraft from here. The administration has implemented strict rules regarding security.
A radius of 18 kilometers of the airport has been declared a no-drone zone. The use of laser lights is prohibited to avoid obstruction in the landing of planes. Airlines like IndiGo, Akasa Air and Air India Express will fly from here. Initially, this airport will have the capacity to handle 1.2 crore passengers every year.
What will be the impact on passengers and economy?
Noida International Airport is on its way to becoming the largest airport in India. It is being developed by YIAPL, a company of Zurich Airport International. This is also good news for Indian expatriates living in Gulf countries, as they will no longer have to struggle with Delhi’s traffic to reach their homes.
The opening of this airport is expected to bring a benefit of approximately Rs 1 lakh crore to the economy of Uttar Pradesh. The district administration has started meeting of committees to prepare for the inauguration so that security and emergency services can be tested. A runway and a big terminal building are ready at the airport which will make the journey easier.
