The price of milk and milk products is going to decrease after a change in the GST rules (GST 2.0) made by the government. The new prices will be implemented from 22 September 2025. Milk is an essential thing in every house, so the government wants it to be more cheap and easily available. Earlier ultra-high temperature (UHT) packed milk used to be 5% GST, but now it has been removed. After this change, the price of milk can be reduced by about Rs 3-4 per liter.
How much milk will be milk?
After the GST is removed, the price of some milk brands may decrease by Rs 3-4 a liter. As –
Mother Dairy Full Cream: Decreased from ₹ 69 to ₹ 65-66
Mother Dairy Toned Milk: Decreased from ₹ 57 to ₹ 55-56
Mother Dairy Buffalo Milk: reduced from ₹ 74 to ₹ 71
Mother Dairy Cow Milk: Decreased from ₹ 59 to ₹ 56-57
How long will the new price be implemented?
New GST rates will be applicable from 22 September 2025. After this date, packed milk of companies like Amul and Mother Dairy will be available at a new price.

Amul’s MD said that fresh pouches milk is already GST-free, so there will be no shortage in it. Only UHT packed milk will be cheaper.
