Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday interacted with the rich Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Tani of Qatar and reiterated the commitment to strengthen the Indo-Qatar strategic partnership.
The leaders of the two countries expressed satisfaction over the continuous progress in this partnership, including areas such as trade, investment and security cooperation. He committed to further support cooperation in areas of all shared interests. The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact and strengthen the relationship.
During the conversation, PM Modi expressed deep concern over Hamas leaders in Doha over Israel’s recent attacks and condemned the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty. He supported Qatar’s efforts to maintain peace and stability. Modi also appreciated the role of Qatar’s mediation in the Gaza struggle, the ceasefire and the efforts to release the hostages.
PM Modi wrote on the social media platform x – “Talked to the rich Sheikh Tamim of Qatar and expressed deep concern over the attacks in Doha. India condemns the violation of sovereignty of Qatar. We support issues through communication and diplomacy, resolving stress and stability in the region. India stands strongly against every form and form of terrorism.”
He once again said that disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. At the same time, the rich of Qatar thanked PM Modi for the solidarity of India in this difficult time and appreciated India’s cooperation in maintaining peace.
