Tension between America and Iran has reached its peak in February 2026. The US President has given Iran an ultimatum for an agreement, after which the fear of war has increased considerably. In view of the situation, the Indian government has issued important advisories for its citizens living in Iran. Intelligence reports suggest American action by the end of this week and army deployment has also been increased.
When can the fight start and what are the preparations?
Some media reports suggest that America may launch a limited attack on Iran by 21 or 22 February. America has deployed two of its large aircraft carriers in the Gulf region. The Pentagon has said it will send more troops by mid-March. In the last 24 hours, 50 American fighter planes have reached the Middle East. In response, Iran, along with Russia, has started naval exercises in the Gulf of Oman. The Trump administration has also talked about imposing taxes on countries doing business with Iran.
What will be the impact on Indians and what is the helpline?
India’s Ministry of External Affairs has advised about 10,000 Indians living in Iran to leave the country immediately. These also include students and fishermen. Although there is no order for Indians living in Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia to leave the country yet, the government has made preparations for any emergency. If there is a war, flights may be stopped and things may become expensive. Indigo Airlines has already stopped some flights.
