The Indian Embassy has issued an important advisory for Indian citizens stranded there due to the ongoing tension in West Asia and closure of Qatar’s airspace. The Embassy of India in Doha has released a special registration link on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11 am. Through this, Indians who are stranded in Qatar can now obtain ‘Transit Visa’ to return via Saudi Arabia. This step has been taken to help those people whose flights have been canceled and they want to return to their country as soon as possible.

How will Indians pass through Saudi Arabia?
According to the information given by the Embassy, Indian citizens who are on transit in Qatar and are unable to go further, can apply for a Temporary Transit Visa for Saudi Arabia. For this, the Embassy has issued a Google Form link (https://forms.gle/oTwqEQYa4z22oX4W7).
However, a major condition for this is that the passenger must have a ‘confirmed flight ticket’ to travel beyond Saudi Arabia. The Embassy has made it clear that this process will take at least 48 hours. Passengers will have to make their own arrangements to reach Salwa land border and from there leave for Saudi Arabia airport. This transit visa will be valid for a maximum of 96 hours.
Helpline number and important information
To help Indians in difficult times, the Embassy has issued 24-hour helpline numbers. Apart from this, information about visa fees and documents is also given, which can be easily understood in the table given below:

Visa Extension and Security Advice
For safety reasons, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has advised all residents to stay away from open areas such as windows and balconies. This precaution is being taken in view of the danger of air attacks. The news of relief is that the Qatar government has extended by one month the period of all those visas which were either expired or about to expire. This rule will be considered applicable from 28 February 2026.
Indians who have a valid US, UK or Schengen visa and have traveled at least once can also avail the facility of ‘Visa on Arrival’ in Saudi Arabia. Qatar Airways will issue its next flight update at 9am on March 7, until then passengers have been advised to stay in touch with the embassy.
