A new CCTV footage of a Hyundai i20 car explosion amid heavy traffic near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening has emerged, recording the exact moment of the blast.
In footage recorded by a traffic camera near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort metro station, the car can be seen moving slowly among autos, e-rickshaws and other vehicles, and then suddenly burst into flames.
Within seconds the car gets engulfed in a huge red ball of fire, after which a thick plume of smoke rises into the sky, causing people nearby to run to safe places.
The explosion was so powerful that many nearby vehicles were damaged. There was panic in the area and people ran to help the injured.
