Red Fort blast: Delhi Police on high alert, intensive search operation underway in the national capital

Following the powerful explosion near Red Fort metro station, Delhi Police has been put on high alert and a massive search operation is being conducted in the national capital. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.

12 people died and many others were injured in this blast.

Officials said a large number of police personnel along with paramilitary forces are deployed at all entry and exit points of Delhi. He said that under tight security arrangements, vehicles coming and going into the city are being thoroughly searched.

Senior police officers are personally monitoring security checks at the interstate borders including Ghazipur, Singhu, Tikri and Badarpur.

Vehicles are being searched at markets, metro stations, railway terminals and bus stands to ensure that no suspicious activity remains unnoticed.

A senior police officer said all district units and special branches have been directed to remain alert and increase patrolling in crowded areas, especially near tourist places, malls and religious places.

“We are not taking any risks,” the officer said. “Our focus is on maintaining public trust and ensuring that the city remains safe.”

Sniffer dogs, metal detectors and anti-riot teams are deployed at sensitive places. Police have also asked residents to remain alert and immediately report any suspicious object or person to the emergency helpline.

Meanwhile, coordination meetings are being held between Delhi Police, Intelligence Bureau and paramilitary forces to review the security situation and assess information related to the blast.

Officials said enhanced security measures will continue.
