Repair and inspection work has started at Terminal 1 (T1) of Kuwait International Airport. Parts of the airport were damaged following an incident on February 28. Officials have said that in view of security, flights are currently affected and everything will be started normally only after the repairs are completed.
What are the rules regarding flights and refunds for passengers?
Flights from Kuwait to India and other countries have still been affected. Air India Express and other airlines have provided relief to passengers by providing refund and rescheduling facilities. People whose flights have been canceled can change their travel dates without any extra charges. Passengers have been advised not to go to the airport for information but check the status online.
Refunds and Rescheduling: Passengers with bookings for 28 February can change their journey till 5 March 2026.
Flight Status: Many flights may remain affected till March 2.
Airport Entry: Currently only employees are allowed to enter the terminal.
Latest update on security and repairs at the airport
Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah himself visited Terminal 1 and took stock of the situation. DGCA has made it clear that the safety of passengers is the biggest priority. Technical investigation of the affected areas of Terminal 1 and the newly built Terminal 2 (T2) is underway. Hotels have been arranged for the passengers who were stuck at the airport and the supply of food items is normal.
