Ahmedabad. Saint Mahamahopadhyay Bhadreshadas Swamiji, scholar of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, K.K. Birla Foundation awarded the country’s prestigious ‘Saraswati Samman 2024’ for his Sanskrit treatise ‘Swaminarayan Siddhant Sudha’ (2022). This is the first time that a saint has received this award and after 22 years a Sanskrit work has received this honor. He has been awarded the Saraswati Samman 2024 for Bhadreshadas Swami’s important literature work ‘Swaminarayan Siddhant Sudha’ published in 2022. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Justice Arjun Kumar Sikri, Chairman of Award Selection Committee, Vice Chancellor and thousands of devotees were present at the grand ceremony held at BAPS Swaminarayan Temple, Ahmedabad, Justice Selection Committee Chairman.
Swamiji dedicated this honor to his Guru Sriprabhu Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj, saying, “This is not my personal achievement, but a sacred responsibility for the welfare of the whole humanity.” Senior saint of BAPS Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami said, this honor is not only of a saint, but of the whole Indian Sadhu society. Its effect is not only literary, it is civilized.
Arjun Kumar Sikri said in his address, after reviewing the books of 22 languages, this book proved to be supreme and unique. By honoring Bhadreshadas Swami, it seems as if the award itself has been proud. The ‘Swaminarayan Siddhanta Sudha’ treats the text Akshar-Purushottam philosophy in logical and intensive style with the principles of Vedanta and encourages the values of equality, knowledge and liberation. This historical honor has made Indian philosophy globally proud by highlighting the eternal glory of Sanskrit.
Saraswati Samman-The highest literary pride of India
Saraswati Samman is not just an award, it is a symbol of India’s cultural depth, literary excellence and civilized pride. It is a celebration of India’s creativity, linguistic diversity and eternal knowledge. The award was started in 1991 K.K. The Birla was done by the Foundation and today it is counted among the highest literary honors of the country.
Supreme literary belief: This honor is given every year to the best work of any language published in the last ten years.
Festival of linguistic diversity: This honor is not only limited to Hindi or English, but gives pride to all Indian languages like Sanskrit, Tamil, Bangla, Malayalam, Oriya.
