Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and global automaker Stellantis have celebrated their 20-year-old partnership. Both the companies signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 10 February 2026 in Pune. It is understood that both the companies will work together to further deepen manufacturing, engineering and supply chain. This partnership operates under the name of Fiat India Automobiles Private Limited (FIAPL), which is located in Ranjangaon, Pune.
What is special about Ranjangaon Plant?
This plant of Ranjangaon is very big in terms of manufacturing. It is estimated that 2,22,000 vehicles are manufactured here every year. Since its inception, the factory has manufactured more than 1.37 million vehicles. Approximately 5,000 workers work in this plant which not only makes vehicles but also engines and transmissions. This plant has also become an export hub, from where vehicles are sold to countries like Japan and South Africa.
Which vehicles have been distributed and what will happen in the future?
Many popular cars of Tata and Stellantis are manufactured in this factory. After understanding this, the future will also focus on electric vehicles and new engine technology. Currently the following vehicle has been prepared:
Stellantis: Jeep Compass, Meridian, Grand Cherokee and Wrangler.
Tata Motors: Nexon, Altroz and Curvv.
According to the report, Stellantis ab is considering using Tata’s 1.5-litre petrol engine in its Jeep vehicles. With this, customers will get a new option of petrol variants.
