The air remained poisonous in the national capital on Tuesday and the air quality index (AQI) was recorded in the ‘very poor’ category.
According to Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, Delhi’s AQI was 340 at 9 am, which was 301 at 9 am on Monday.
According to data on CPCB’s ‘Sameer’ app, the air quality in two of the 39 monitoring stations – Chandni Chowk and Vivek Vihar – remained in the ‘severe category’, with the AQI crossing 400.
According to CPCB, AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’ and 401-500 ‘severe’.
The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 9.6 degrees Celsius, which is 0.1 degrees more than normal. The maximum temperature is expected to be between 24 to 26 degrees Celsius.
