Union Minister Piyush Goyal's blunt comment on trade deal with America: India does not compromise under pressure or at gunpoint, says Union Minister Piyush Goyal on the trade deal with the US.

New Delhi. Talks are still going on regarding the trade deal between India and America. At the Berlin Dialogue held in Germany, Union Minister Piyush Goyal has bluntly said regarding the trade deal that India never makes any deal in a hurry. Along with this, he also said that we do not make deals under any kind of pressure or by keeping a deadline or by pointing a gun. Regarding tariffs, Goyal said, India is exploring new markets and we are expecting better demand from the domestic economy.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, we are in talks with the United States. Our teams are active. Recently, India’s Commerce Secretary came to America and met his counterparts. We are continuing talks with America regarding a trade deal and the talks are progressing. We hope to work toward a fair and equitable settlement in the near future. This comment of the Union Minister has come at a time when America is continuously putting pressure on India to stop buying crude oil from Russia.

This statement of Piyush Goyal is being considered in clear words as an answer to America from the Indian government. Let us tell you that recently US President Donald Trump has claimed several times that he has talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue and Modi has assured him that India does not buy oil from Russia. However, this has been completely denied by the Indian Foreign Ministry. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said that no such conversation took place between Modi and Trump.
