In view of the increasing tension and war-like situation in West Asia, the Government of India has called an important all-party meeting today. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will preside over this meeting today at 5 pm in the Parliament complex. In this, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will inform the leaders of all parties about the latest situation and India’s diplomatic steps. The Prime Minister has described this situation as very serious which can have a direct impact on India’s economy and security.

Through this meeting, the government wants to build a consensus with all political parties on the Middle East crisis. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already addressed the MPs and said that this is an unprecedented crisis whose consequences can be seen for a long time. What are the arrangements for the security of Indians living in the Gulf?
Due to the war, concerns about the safety of about one crore Indians living in Gulf countries have increased. The government is continuously working for the safety of these migrants and Indian seafarers working at sea. In view of the increasing tension in the Strait of Hormuz, the Indian Navy has deployed its warships which are providing safe passage to oil and LPG tankers.
The Indian Navy is now escorting merchant vessels. The livelihood of Indians working in Gulf countries is being monitored. The government has asked the states to be alert to stop black marketing. Trade routes have been affected by tensions between Iran, Israel and the US. Opposition parties have also given their consent to discuss this issue.
