Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Mission Shakti Abhiyan has given women the basis of safety, honor and self -reliance, the success of Meera Singh of village Burupur of Suithakala development block of Shahganj tehsil of Jaunpur district is the result of this. Meera Singh, who once lived in limited resources, has created a place in the field of fisheries that is not only changing the fate of her family, but has also become a source of inspiration for other women and youth of the village.
Meera Singh has set a unique example of self-reliance along with the safety, honor and self-reliance of women under the Mission Shakti of the Yogi government. In 2020-21, by extending the fisheries started from one acre of land for 25 acres today, Meera not only made her identity as progressive fisheries, but also inspired rural women for economic self-reliance.
Yogi government’s grant amount and training became a boon
Meera Singh’s journey is an inspirational story from ordinary rural women to strong entrepreneurs. The Yogi government’s ‘blue revolution’ and mission power schemes empowered Meera with a grant of Rs 15 lakh and scientific training, which is today employing more than 10 people with 1400 quintals of annual production. In 2020, when he started fisheries with husband Jainendra Singh, production was just 20 quintals per hectare. The Yogi government’s fisheries seed hatchery scheme gave him a grant and technical guidance of Rs 15 lakh.
Meera Singh says that first we used an acre. With the help of the government, he learned how to increase production in a scientific way. The Yogi government connected us to seeds, technology and market. This increased our confidence. Today, 1400 quintal fish are produced in 25 acres. It includes 1250 Kuntal Pangesius, 60-60 Kuntal Rohu and Bhakur, 30 Kuntal Mrigal. She says that we inspire women to become self -sufficient. With the help of the Yogi government, we are living a safe and respected life.

Meera’s success symbolizes the safety, respect and self -reliance of women. Meera Singh proudly says that Mission Shakti taught us self -defense and economic freedom. The husband was supported, but the government’s plans empowered us. Today she supplies fish and seeds from her ponds in the surrounding villages, which benefited the local farmers.
