There was challenges before 2017
Prior to 2017, the situation in both education and health regions in the state was very worrying. The reach of schools in rural areas was limited and most institutions lacking basic facilities. Due to teacher absence, lack of books and teaching resources, children’s education remained incomplete, due to which the student dropout rate was increasing on a large scale. Similarly, the condition of health services was also weak, where due to adequate medical infrastructure and lack of trained health workers, the common man could not be easily available to basic treatment.
Comprehensive reforms and concrete steps taken from 2017 to 2025
In the last eight and a half years, there have been significant changes in education and health sector under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under the School Chalo Abhiyan and Sharda program, 40 lakh new children were enrolled, while the number of children who got the right to education in RTE expansion increased from 22 thousand to 4.3 lakhs and a fee reimbursement of Rs 638 crore was ensured. Along with this, 19 basic facilities were made available in primary and upper primary schools through Operation Rejuvenation, while Atal Residential Schools are operating in 18 divisions of the state and providing quality education to poor and disadvantaged children. Project Alankar added facilities like library, lab, hall, drinking water, toilets and electrification in secondary schools.
UP also takes historical steps in the health sector
Over the years, big steps have been taken towards strengthening health services in the state. The network of medical colleges and health centers was expanded, while initiatives like Jan Aushadhi Kendras and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana brought great relief to the poor and needy. Now a clear roadmap has been prepared to take health services to global standards under Vision 2030 and 2047, so that every citizen can get better and accessible treatment.
State will become 6 trillion dollars economy through education and health
The target has been set to reach the state’s GSDP to 6 trillion dollars by 2047. According to the roadmap prepared for this, it will be taken from $ 353 billion in 2025 to take 1 trillion by 2030, $ 2 trillion by 2036 and $ 6 trillion by 2047. To achieve this ambitious target, an average of 16 percent annual growth rate (CAGR) will have to be maintained for the next 22 years. According to the vision, a target has been set to bring per capita income to Rs 26 lakh by 2047 and to take Uttar Pradesh’s stake in India’s GDP to 20 percent.
