Congress MP Karti Chidambaram, in a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has drawn attention to the accidents caused by high-tension electric wires and large-sized music systems during the Kanwar Yatra. He has said that such incidents happen due to improper maintenance of electricity infrastructure and wires hanging too low.

What did Karti Chidambaram say?

Karti Chidambaram is a Congress party MP from Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu. In a letter to CM Yogi, he has said that the Kanwar Yatra has started from Monday. Therefore, necessary steps are necessary to prevent unfortunate accidents from happening again. In the letter, the MP raised security issues regarding the incidents that took place during the Kanwar Yatra in the last few years. He said that the Kanwar Yatra witnessed tragic accidents involving high-tension electric wires and large-sized music systems.

Inauguration of Kanwar Control Room

According to the information, every year 7 crore Kanwariyas take Ganga water from Gaumukh Haridwar and go towards their destination via Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of Skill Development in the Uttar Pradesh Government, inaugurated the Kanwar Control Room at Shiv Chowk in Muzaffarnagar on Monday evening.
