New Delhi. The first match of the 5 test match series between India and England was played in Hyderabad, where England won by defeating the Indian team by 28 runs. However, after this defeat, Team India suffered another blow when fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was found guilty of violating the ICC Code of Conduct. Reportedly, Jasprit Bumrah violated ICC rules during the fourth day of the Hyderabad Test. The incident occurred during the 81st over of England’s second innings when Jasprit Bumrah deliberately collided with Ollie Pope while bowling.
During this, there was an altercation between Jasprit Bumrah and Ollie Pope. Despite the brilliant bowling performance of Bumrah, who took 6 wickets in the Hyderabad Test, Team India had to face defeat by 28 runs. The ICC accused Jasprit Bumrah of violating Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct during this incident. According to Article 2.12, if a player engages in inappropriate physical contact with another player or an umpire, they are guilty of a breach.
Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was not penalized but was given one bad point. This is the first time in the last 24 months that Bumrah has faced such disciplinary action. On-field umpires Paul Riffel and Chris Gaffney, third umpire Marais Erasmus and fourth umpire Rohan Pandit accused Jasprit Bumrah of violating the rules. Despite the demerit point, no financial penalty was imposed on the Indian fast bowler.
