New Delhi. Under the Agneepath scheme brought for the recruitment of soldiers in the army, PM Narendra Modi can take a big decision regarding the future of Agniveers. According to government sources, PM Modi will separately meet the heads of the three wings of the Army on his return to Delhi after the Yoga Day today. He first met Navy Chief Admiral R. From Hari Kumar. After this, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary, and then the Chief of the Army Staff, General Manoj Pandey will reach Modi to meet him. During the meeting with the three army chiefs, the PM will also take their feedback about the decisions taken so far in the scheme and what to do beyond that.
Let us inform that since the announcement of Agneepath scheme, incidents of violence and nuisance had started in many states including Bihar. Trains were set on fire everywhere. Due to these disturbances and arson, the Railways has suffered a loss of about Rs 700 crore so far. The damage also included the coaches and engines of trains destroyed by the arson. The police had also arrested more than 1000 miscreants in this case till Sunday night. Many of the arrested people are also the operators of coaching. Regarding the operators, the police allege that these people instigated the youth and caused violence.
In a press conference on Sunday itself, it was made clear by the three wings of the army that the Agneepath scheme would not be withdrawn at all. The army has also said that some changes can be made in the plan going forward, but only Agniveers will be recruited to decide the future of the army. Out of which 25 percent will be kept in the army after 4 years after seeing their performance. The remaining 75 per cent will be retired.
