This question is arising because earlier Delhi Police had registered a case of kidnapping on Punjab Police after arresting BJP leader Tajinder Bagga. Now in Kota, Rajasthan, a case has been registered against the Punjab Police for kidnapping the youth. This case has been registered after the family of the youth filed an application in the court at Kunhadi police station in Kota. In this, all the policemen including DSP and SHO of Hoshiarpur in Punjab have been nominated. Due to this questions are being raised on the working style of Punjab Police.
This case has been registered in the case of lifting a youth named Harnoor Singh from Kota. Harnoor’s uncle Amarjeet Singh told that the police kidnapped his nephew and presented the challan in the court within 20 days without completing the investigation. He told that Harnoor was studying from Kota to go to Canada. He was called to Hotel Clarks on the pretext of IELTS course and from there Innova and Government Bolero were picked up by the vehicle. Harnoor’s house is in Sanwalpura under Taleda police station. On 7 March, he had gone to Kota by car. Didn’t come back in the night. On this the family members had also reported to the police station.
According to Amarjeet, he went to Kota and talked to Harnoor’s friends. It was later learned that Harnoor’s car was parked outside Kunhadi’s Hotel Clarks Premiere on March 7. Some suspicious people were also there. Police found the location of Harnoor’s mobile in Rohtak, Haryana. Then this location appeared in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. After that Harnoor’s brother got a call from some Lakhbir Singh. He told that the Hoshiarpur police has arrested Harnoor for possessing 10 kg of opium. On March 12, when the family met Harnoor in the jail, he told that Rs 15-20 lakh was demanded and was implicated in the case of possessing opium for not giving it. According to Amarjeet, Punjab Police has shown the nephew’s arrest from Hoshiarpur toll. Whereas, they have CCTV footage of the vehicle being taken from Kota to Harnoor.
