Royal Enfield Classic 350 Recall: The country’s leading performance bike manufacturer Royal Enfield recently launched the next generation model of its best selling bike Classic 350 in the domestic market. Now a major technical fault has been seen in this bike, which can not only damage the part of the bike but also increases the chances of an accident. As soon as this defect came to light, the company has recalled 26,300 units of Classic 350.
According to reports, Royal Enfield has issued a recall for 26,300 units of the Classic 350 motorcycles due to a problem with the brake reaction bracket issue. The technical team of the two-wheeler company has found that the brake reaction bracket attached to the swing arm of the motorcycle can get damaged under certain riding conditions.
In the event that an exceptionally high braking load is applied to the rear brake pedal, it can potentially cause damage to the reaction bracket. As a result, along with making unnecessary noise, if more braking is done, then the chances of the bike crashing also increase. Keeping all these apprehensions in mind, the company has made this recall, so that the bikes can be brought back and rectified.
These bikes have been affected:
This recall of the company includes those models of Classic 350 which were manufactured between September 1 and December 5 this year. This includes the single channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and rear drum brake variant of the bike. The bikes are being recalled to fix the brake reaction bracket of the swing arm for these units.
The company said in a statement that, “Such issues can only arise in certain riding conditions, and we are committed to fixing them at the earliest with minimum inconvenience to our customers.” Classic 350 is the best selling bike sold by the company in the domestic market and recently its next generation model has been introduced in a completely new style.
How will the bikes fit?
Royal Enfield is committed to fixing the affected bikes at the earliest. Royal Enfield’s service team and/or local dealership will initiate contact with customers whose Motorcycle Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) falls under the list of affected vehicles manufactured in the specified period. Apart from this, owners of the Classic 350 model can also visit the official website of Royal Enfield or the local workshop to find out. Alternatively, you can also call the company’s helpline number – 1800 210007 for more information in this regard.
