New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not only running with the goal of winning the Gujarat Assembly elections this time, but it wants to create a new record by breaking the Congress’s record of winning 149 seats in 1985.
The Congress won 149 out of 182 seats under the leadership of Madhavsinh Solanki during the 1985 assembly elections. Since then both Congress and BJP have not been able to win such a large number of seats.
A senior BJP official told -AnyTV News that Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil, acting under the direction of Prime Minister August 2, 2021
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, is making strenuous efforts to break this record.
He said that the BJP has been in power in Gujarat for nearly three decades but still the party has not been able to break the Congress’ 1985 record. The BJP state chief wants to break this record in this year’s assembly elections.
CR Patil is not only a prominent BJP strategist but he is also close and trusted to Modi and Shah. The BJP has stood by Patil all the time. Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at his appointment as Gujarat’s BJP chief, saying the BJP could not find any person from the state for the post of state chief. BJP leaders then started raising questions about Kejriwal’s homeland, supporting Patil. Patil is from Jalgaon in Maharashtra.
Patil is also trying to ensure that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) does not establish its roots in Gujarat. He has inducted about 500 AAP workers and officials into the BJP.
BJP sources said that AAP workers from several district units have joined the BJP under Patil’s leadership. Patil recognizes every potential threat and he is making sure that you don’t emerge as a big challenger in this election.
The state chiefs are also engaged in branding the party. BJP MPs and leaders were seen wearing the same cap on BJP’s foundation day i.e. April 6, in March, Prime Minister Modi wore the same cap in Ahmedabad roadshow after BJP’s victory in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur assembly elections.
This cap was designed in Surat itself and it was made there.
It is heard that Patil had made this cap in large numbers and it was popularized when Narendra Modi came to Gujarat on March 11. The Chief Minister of the state was also seen wearing this cap at the roadshow in Ahmedabad.
