New Delhi. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is currently being played in the country. Meanwhile, Indian Test team’s star player Cheteshwar Pujara has given a befitting reply to his critics by scoring a double century against England. Let us tell you, Cheteshwar Pujara has participated in the county season of England’s domestic league. During this, he made his debut for Sussex in the 4-day match played here from 14 April. This debut match of Pujara was quite spectacular, in his very first match, he scored a double century. It is worth noting that Pujara was not bought by any team in the mega auction of IPL 2022. Although, before that he became a part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2021 season, but he did not get a chance to play a single match. This is the reason why Pujara decided to play county cricket so that he can return to his old form.
Pujara played this match against Derbyshire. Batting first in this match, Derbyshire declared their innings by scoring 505 for 8 wickets. After this, the Sussex team was reduced to 174 runs and was forced to play the follow-on. Pujara scored only 6 runs in the first innings. Pakistan’s wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan was also playing with Pujara by joining the same team. He too could only score 22 runs in the first innings. In this match, the Sussex team made a great start in the second innings with Captain Tom Haynes scoring 243 runs, while Cheteshwar Pujara played an unbeaten 201 runs. Rizwan’s turn could not come in this. In this way, the Sussex team scored 513 runs for 3 wickets in the second innings and thus the match between Sussex and Derbyshire was drawn.
