new Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested a top drug supplier, who used to buy narcotics from Bareilly and supply it in Delhi-NCR. An official gave this information on Saturday. The accused, identified as Sunil Sansi alias Rahul, has been involved in 37 criminal cases, of which three pertain to the NDPS Act.
The accused was also absconding in two more NDPS Act cases being probed by Outer District Anti-Drug Squad and Crime Branch, police said.
Giving details about the operation, DCP Sameer Sharma said that acting on an information received on January 5, Brijesh, a drug peddler from Pooth Kalan village in the national capital, was caught with 100 grams of heroin when he delivered a consignment to someone. Was coming for delivery.
Accordingly, a case under section 21 of the NDPS Act has been registered and he has been arrested, the official said.
Another drug smuggler Vikram alias Bunty has been arrested with 15 grams of heroin from Sultanpuri area of the city.
The DCP said that during interrogation, Vikram revealed that he used to buy illegally banned material from Sunil Sansi and his brother-in-law Sagar alias Chintu.
“Sunil Sansi was searched but he remained absconding and a massive technical surveillance was launched to nab him,” the senior official said.
The police finally traced his location on March 2 at Paonta Sahib in Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh, from where he was caught with 100 grams of heroin.
“Raids were conducted in Bareilly for further investigation to nab the narcotics suppliers, but the suppliers were found absconding. All possible locations of the suppliers are still being raided,” the DCP said.
