A censure motion was passed in the Assembly on Monday against Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. During this, the AAP MLA said that such remark deserves to be beheaded.
Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel suspended three BJP MLAs Anil Bajpai, Jitendra Mahajan and Ajay Mahawar for some time amid the uproar. The three MLAs had stood at their places, after which the Speaker requested them to sit. They did not agree and then the Speaker asked them to leave the house. Thereafter, once again the proceedings of the House were adjourned for 15 minutes. Earlier in the morning also the proceedings were adjourned for 15 minutes.
As soon as the proceedings of the House began in the morning, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs came near the plinth and started shouting slogans against the BJP leader’s remarks against Kejriwal.
AAP MLA Mohinder Goel demanded that Gupta apologize for his alleged remarks. He also demanded a motion of censure against Gupta.
He said a motion of censure should be brought in the House against Delhi unit president Adesh Gupta for his derogatory remarks against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The Leader of the Opposition should apologise.
When the proceedings of the House resumed, the Speaker accepted the motion of censure moved by Goel and it was passed by voice vote. Goyal said that we are good people, our workers are Sharif. Otherwise, such a comment deserves beheading. He challenged Gupta to make such remarks against any Chief Minister of BJP ruled states.
Leader of Opposition in the House Ramveer Bidhuri said that if anyone has used any objectionable word, then I condemn it. If there is any truth in the allegations against Adesh Gupta, then I will apologize to the Chief Minister of Delhi with folded hands.
The Speaker later asked Bidhuri to show the video of the remarks and allowed the suspended BJP MLAs to rejoin the proceedings of the House.
