Dietician Yachina Sharma said that to control diabetes, it is first necessary to bring changes in diet and lifestyle, otherwise it becomes difficult to control sugar. In case of diabetes, either the body does not produce enough insulin or the body is not able to use insulin properly. Therefore the body is not able to convert sugar, starch and other food into energy. He further explained that hence a person’s diet depends on his blood sugar level, daily routine, exercise habits and body structure.
Red meat should not be consumed
Giving information, the dietician said that the diet of a diabetic patient should contain 60 percent carbohydrates, 20 percent fat and 20 percent protein. 1500-1800 should be taken in a day. One must eat two seasonal fruits and three types of vegetables daily. One should not consume non-vegetarian food, especially red meat should not be consumed at all.

You can start consuming green leafy vegetables. It can be healthy for diabetic patients to consume raw banana, litchi, pomegranate, avocado and guava. Diabetic patients should include limited quantity of curd and milk in low fat dairy products. Giving can be beneficial.
Avoid these things
Diabetic patients should not consume too much salt in their food. Cold drinks can cause harm to diabetic patients, hence it is advised to avoid it. Minimize the use of sugar in food. Ice cream and toffee are harmful for diabetic patients. It can be dangerous for diabetic patients. If you include too much junk food or oily food in your diet, it can prove to be dangerous for diabetic patients.
