The Election Commission of India has shared the complete data given by State Bank of India on its website. Earlier on Thursday, during the hearing in the Supreme Court, the Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI) filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that he has handed over all the details related to the electoral bonds to the Election Commission. It has been said in the affidavit of SBI that it has made available to the Election Commission all the documents related to the electoral bonds held by it on March 21, 2024.
SBI handed over all the documents to the Election Commission
SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara told the Supreme Court that the bank has given the Election Commission the name of the person purchasing the electoral bond, the denomination and unique number of the electoral bond, the name of the party encashing the electoral bond and the last four digits of the party’s bank account. This affidavit states that no other details of the electoral bonds are now with the bank.
The court had said – every information related to the bond will have to be given.
Earlier on March 18, the Supreme Court had told SBI that you have not yet been able to give the information we want from you. You are obliged to provide every information. You will have to give every information in detail. The Supreme Court had also said that SBI will have to give every information related to it along with the bond number.
