Islamabad: The troubles of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan are going to increase further. President Asif Ali Zardari has given this indication after meeting the Pakistan Army Chief. Imran Khan is accused that he and his party have made a series of baseless allegations against the army. This is going to increase the embarrassment of Imran and his party leaders. President Zardari has expressed deep concern over the “baseless” allegations against the army by a political party and some of its members for political gains.
Let us tell you that Army Chief General Asim Munir met the new President Zardari on Wednesday, when Zardari made this indirect attack on the Tehreek-e-Insaf party led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan. During the meeting, the army chief congratulated Zardari on becoming the 14th President of Pakistan last month. An official press release issued by the President’s Office said President Zardari “expressed grave concern over the baseless allegations leveled against the Army and its leadership by a particular political party and some of its individuals for narrow political gains.
Plan to deal with the accusers
The President’s Office said that it has been resolved to deal strictly with such disruptive elements who accuse the army. Zardari was referring to the allegations leveled against the Pakistani Army by Imran Khan and his party when he is ousted from power in April 2022. Pakistan has been under military rule for more than half of its 75-year history. The army has had a significant involvement in matters related to security and foreign policy. (Language)
