Hijab Row Verdict: The Karnataka High Court has given the much-awaited verdict on the Hijab controversy. While upholding the autonomy of educational institutions, the court said that students should follow the rules of uniform. Along with this, the court also dismissed the petitions filed against the order of ban on hijab. This means that now girl students will not be able to wear hijab in those institutions where uniform is fixed and such a ban is applicable. While delivering the verdict, the court also expressed surprise at the sudden emergence of this issue. The court said that why this confusion suddenly arose.

The court said in its order. ‘The way the confusion has arisen about the hijab, it seems that someone has a hand in this whole controversy. This seems to have been done to create social unrest and destroy harmony. “We are concerned as to why this issue suddenly arose in the middle of the academic session,” the court said. While delivering the verdict, the court clearly said that hijab is not a mandatory condition for professing Islam. Along with this, the court said that it is the right of the institutions to decide the uniform and the students cannot object to it.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of the state Basavaraj Bommai has welcomed the decision and appealed to everyone to accept it. CM said that everyone should accept this decision. All the people of the state government should cooperate in this. BJP MP Tejashwi Surya said that I welcome the decision of Karnataka High Court. This will give opportunities and rights to the girl students to study. Meanwhile, the girl’s lawyer says that this decision will be challenged in the Supreme Court on her behalf. He said that we have not lost faith in the country’s courts and the Constitution. Will challenge it in the Supreme Court.
