A report by a property brokerage firm said that sales of houses increased by 13 per cent to 2,05,936 units in 2021 from 1,82,639 units in the previous year. It said that there was a sharp increase in new supplies in 2021 as compared to 2020 and this figure increased from 1.22 lakh units to 2.14 lakh units, representing a growth of 75 percent. Due to this boom, the health of the real estate sector seems to be improving.
Ahmedabad-Hyderabad at the forefront
According to the report, after the Corona epidemic, there were other factors including the support measures of the government, due to which this increase was seen. Talking about the major 8 cities, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad have seen the highest increase in the price of houses up to 7 percent. It was followed by Bengaluru by 6 per cent, Pune at 3 per cent and Mumbai at 4 per cent. In Delhi-NCR, Kolkata and Chennai, house prices have gone up by up to 5 per cent.
Will come in 2022 and accelerate
In the CII-Enrock Consumer Survey, 56 per cent respondents expect housing prices to rise in 2022 due to inflationary trends in construction, raw materials and overall operating costs for developers. The survey, conducted between July and December 2021, covered the opinions of 5,210 people in Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities through various digital platforms.
