South Korean automaker Hyundai is working on a new car to capitalize on the MPV segment, which is rumored to be named Hyundai Stargazer. Regarding the Hyundai Stargazer, experts believe that this 3-row MPV will be built on the same platform on which the Kia Carens MPV is based. The platform is basically an extended version of the SP2, which also underpins the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Alcazar. platform

Its other features list will include blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane changing assist, etc.
What’s the update on engine and gearbox options?
The new model could be equipped with a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is capable of producing 113bhp power and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

Talking about the India-spec model, it can also get a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, which makes 113bhp power and 250Nm of peak torque. Apart from this, the company can also use a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine equipped with a power of 138bhp with manual and 7-speed DCT.
