The fire of demonstrations against the Agneepath scheme has reached almost 13 states. Violent protests are going on in many states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana. A youth was killed in police firing during a demonstration in Secunderabad, Telangana. At the same time, an unidentified railway passenger who fainted in the Vikramshila Express, which was set on fire in Lakhisarai, Bihar, died in the hospital. Meanwhile, during a TV debate, SP spokesperson Udayveer Singh explained why soldiers would be recruited only for four years, why not for five years?
SP spokesperson said, “They do not want to give pension, so they have brought Agneepath scheme only for four years and not for five years. Because at the age of five, a jawan will have to pay gratuity, ex-servicemen’s rights, pension benefits, CDS canteen facilities, health facilities, everything. He said that the jawan who is serving in the army should not be given the right to be an ex-serviceman, so this scheme has been kept for four years and not for five years.
Udayveer Singh further said, “The fact is that the biggest business has become in this country that try to justify the wrong policies of the government.” He further said that the same people are getting government advertisements, the same people are earning money who are trying to justify wrong schemes.
Opinion should have been taken from the opposition: SP spokesperson further said, “If this scheme is discussed for two years, then why is the Parliament? The opposition also has a right. People’s feedback on Agneepath scheme should have been taken. You would have taken the opinion of the youth, you would have taken the opinion of the Parliament or the state governments.” He said that he would discuss on this in an open forum. On one hand you issue notification of recruitment, on the other hand you say that youth is being explained.
During this, BJP spokesperson Prem Shukla said that the normal process of recruitment in the army will not stop. In response to which Prem Shukla said that that process will not stop. In response to this statement of the BJP spokesperson, SP spokesperson Udayveer Singh said that once the Defense Minister should get this statement made.
