Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also targeted the central government amid protests across the country against the Agneepath scheme. Talking about the Agneepath scheme on the 56th foundation day of Shiv Sena on Sunday (June 19, 2022), Thackeray said, “Will you take out tenders for Prime Minister and Chief Minister also tomorrow?
Mocking the plan, Uddhav Thackeray said, “Tomorrow you want the government to be hired and tender. Will you issue tender for Chief Minister or Prime Minister also? If you want to run things like this then apply the hiring concept to everything. Keep and take away, use and throw away.”
Wrong to play with the lives of youth: Attacking the central government, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra said that earlier farmers had taken to the streets against some agricultural laws of the Centre. The Shiv Sena chief said that you should give only those assurances, which you can fulfill.
Uddhav Thackeray asked, “Why were the schemes named Agneepath and Agniveer? What will young people in the age group of 17 to 21 do after four years? Keeping soldiers on contract is dangerous. It is wrong to play with the lives and ambitions of youth. If the youth will not have jobs then there is no point in talking only about Lord Ram.”
Do not insult the youth: On the other hand, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has targeted BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya. The Aam Aadmi Party convener tweeted, “Don’t disrespect the youth and army personnel of the country so much. The youth of our country work hard day and night to pass the physical, pass the test, because they want to serve the country whole life by going to the army, not because they want to be a guard outside the BJP office.
Priority to Agniveer in security: Actually, Kailash Vijayvargiya had said that if he wants to keep security in his BJP office, then he will give priority to Agniveer. He said that when these youths come out after studying discipline in the army service for four years, they will have the tag of Agniveer with Rs 11 lakh. This will be of great use to them.
