According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) data, the total number of people affected by the floods in Hailakandi, Kamrup, Karimganj, Bajli, Cachar, Chirang, Dibrugarh, Morigaon, Nagaon, Sivasagar and Tamulpur districts is 8 lakh 88 thousand 177. The worst situation in the midst of Assam floods is in Cachar district. More than 5.63 lakh people have been affected by the floods here. While Morigaon and Nagaon 1.52 lakh and 1.45 lakh people have been hit by the floods.
28 revenue circles and 620 villages in 14 districts of Assam are in the grip of floods. At the same time, relief work is also going on in the event of floods. At the same time, in view of the flood situation in schools, holidays have been declared a week in advance. Education Department Secretary Bharat Bhushan Dev Choudhary said that from June 25 to July 25, the schools would remain bungalows. Earlier, the period till 31 July was fixed for this.
