In the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, an IUML MP attacked the Railway Minister fiercely. MP from Kerala Abdul Wahab said that the budget of Northern Railway is more than the budget of Southern Railway. The MP said that there has been discrimination against Kerala.
IUML’s Rajya Sabha MP from Kerala, Abdul Wahab, during the debate on the Railway Budget, took a jibe at the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav’s praise. He said that on what basis the members are praising is not known, but there is discrimination against their state. He took a dig at the Railway Minister as well as his colleagues.
The MP said- “Today everyone is praising the Railway Minister- even Britas (CPM member John Brittas), though I don’t know why?” After this, while talking on the budget, he said that not only in India but in the whole world discrimination has happened or is being done against the South. He also gave the example of North America and South America during this period.
MP Abdul Wahab while demanding a separate zone for Kerala said that we have been demanding it for many years. But there has always been an excuse for it. Just a signature of the Railway Minister is enough for this.
Apart from this, the MP also demanded stoppage of some trains and some new trains, stating the problem of trains in his state and region. He said that a train runs in his place, whose name is Rajarani, but it is known as Cancer Train. Because cancer patients travel in large numbers by that train, they have to get down seven kilometers before Trivandrum city, who are being unfairly treated, e-rickshaws charge Rs 300-500 for seven kilometres. This is too much.
MP Abdul Wahab further said that many times all these suggestions have been sent through DRM, but till date nothing has happened. He also demanded replacement of old coaches of some trains.
