Protests erupted in many parts of the country on Friday against the controversial remarks of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad. During this, there was a lot of ruckus in Prayagraj of Uttar Pradesh. After the Friday prayers, the crowd on the road suddenly started pelting stones. The accused carried out the stone pelting incident by pushing the children forward. On the other hand, the person who made objectionable video on Nupur Sharma has been arrested.
Taking a tough stand on the Prayagraj violence, the police administration has arrested 68 people so far. Police said that the accused would be booked under the Gangster Act and all illegal properties would be attached. SSP Ajay Kumar said that anti-social elements used minor children to pelt stones at the police and administration.
The mastermind of this entire ruckus is being told to Javed Ahmed alias Pump. SSP Ajay Kumar confirmed Javed’s hand in spreading violence in Prayagraj and said that there could be more masterminds of violence. He said that a case has been registered against 70 known people and 5,000 unknown people under 29 serious sections at Khuldabad police station.
Orders for strict action: CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict action against those who indulge in violence and incitement to violence in Uttar Pradesh. After which 227 people who tried to incite or incite violence in different areas of the state have been arrested. At the same time, the situation remained tense in Prayagraj on Saturday morning as well. The police have laid siege all around and the markets are closed.
Kashmir’s YouTuber Arrested: On the other hand, Kashmir’s YouTuber Faizal Wani, who made objectionable video of Nupur Sharma, was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday. Wani apologized on Saturday for making a video of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Taking cognizance of the viral graphic video, Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered an FIR against YouTuber Faisal Wani. A case has been registered against Faizal Wani under sections 505 and 506 at Safa Kadal police station.
In this video Nupur Sharma’s effigy was shown beheading. After the FIR was registered, YouTuber Faisal Wani apologised, saying, “Yesterday I made a video of Nupur Sharma which went viral across India and an innocent person like me got caught in controversies.” He has deleted the objectionable video posted on his channel.
