If Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is being sent to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, Piyush Goyal will get a chance to go to the Upper House from Maharashtra quota. These names have been approved by the Central Election Committee of BJP. The National General Secretary has released the list. On the other hand, JDU has nominated Jharkhand Janata Dal (United) chief and former MLA Khiru Mahto as the party’s candidate from Bihar.
According to the list, Kavita Patidar from MP, Jaggesh besides Sitharaman from Karnataka, Dr. Anil Sukhdevrao Bonde besides Yogal from Maharashtra, Ghanshyam Tiwari from Rajasthan, Laxmikant Vajpayee from UP, Dr. Radha Mohan Agarwal, Surendra Singh Nagar, Babu Ram Nishad, The names of Darshana Singh, Sangeeta Yadav have been finalised. BJP can win 8 seats in UP
In the elections being held for 11 Rajya Sabha seats in UP, BJP can field its candidates on eight seats. Possible names were discussed in the meeting chaired by CM Yogi and State President Swatantra Dev Singh. It was agreed to send the names of the five BJP MPs whose term is about to end, to the Central Election Committee. These include the names of Sanjay Seth, Surendra Nagar, Zafar Islam, Jai Prakash Nishad and Shiv Pratap Shukla.
It was agreed to send the name of former minister Naresh Agarwal in the meeting. Naresh Agrawal, who was a Rajya Sabha MP, was referred to above as a big leader of the Vaish community. But seeing the first list that has been released, it does not seem that the state leadership has run. Although two names are yet to be announced, but the way Dr. Radha Mohan Agarwal has been given ticket, bypassing Naresh Agarwal, it does not seem that now his number will be taken. Only one ticket was to be given from the Vaish community.
