There has been a different perception about those coming into Indian politics that only those who reach the corridors of power, who are Bahubali, who have money power, big vehicles and thousands of supporters walking back and forth. But during the UP elections, Anil Pradhan, who reached the assembly after winning from Chitrakoot, has broken all these assumptions. Anil Pradhan has only property worth Rs 30 thousand 496 and he neither has land nor does he have his own house.
Anil Pradhan, who wore slippers, defeated Chandrika Prasad Upadhyay, a minister in the Yogi government, by a margin of 20876 votes on a Samajwadi Party ticket from Chitrakoot assembly seat. Since then, he has been in constant discussions.
Anil Pradhan, who stays away from the glamor, wears a green kurta and white pyjama. Often they tie a red scarf on the head. Referring to his green kurta, Anil Pradhan says, “This green kurta is the symbol of farmers. Since, the farmer is such a community that works hard to feed the people of the whole country along with his family and Lal Safi is a symbol of revolution.
In 2013, the then Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had visited Chitrakoot in the SP government. It was only on this visit of Akhilesh Yadav that Anil Pradhan came into the discussions. Then Anil Pradhan raised the problems of his area in front of Akhilesh Yadav and created a ruckus. During this, the police had caught Anil Pradhan.
At that time Akhilesh Yadav’s eyes fell on Anil Pradhan and he had called Anil Pradhan on the stage and listened to his problems. Akhilesh Yadav had also called Anil Pradhan to Lucknow. Anil Pradhan says that whenever we raised any demand during the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav, he fulfilled that work. Anil Pradhan expressed his gratitude to Akhilesh Yadav for contesting the election on SP ticket.
