Aadhar card issuing body UIDAI is planning to start doorstep service. With this, you will soon be able to get Aadhaar card services at your doorstep. The postman, apart from delivering your speed-post, will soon provide Aadhaar services at your doorstep. Aadhar service will be delivered door-to-door through postman.
UIDAI said it will now allow India Post Payments Bank’s 48,000 postmen to go door-to-door in remote parts of the country and link Aadhaar numbers with mobile numbers, update details, as well as enroll new Aadhaar . Under this facility, people living in remote areas will be connected.
A senior UIDAI official told ET that all 150,000 postal officers will be covered in the second part of the scheme.
Giving information, the official said that training is being given under UIDAI, which will be introduced soon. The aim of which is to reach as many people as possible and enroll more and more citizens.
The postman will come with the base kit
Talking about this scheme of UIDAI, UIDAI said that it will provide necessary digital gear like desktop or laptop-based Aadhaar kit to the postmen to update the required details of Aadhaar card holders. The official said that so far the training is being done using tablets and mobile-based kits for child enrollment.
