Bhopal . In a joint operation by Madhya Pradesh Police and central agencies, six suspected terrorists were arrested from Bhopal on Sunday. The operation was carried out in complete secrecy. The suspects are being interrogated at an undisclosed location. The operation was carried out with the help of a team from the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Madhya Pradesh and the Intelligence Unit of the Centre. Based on the inputs, the police targeted the inter-state hard core jihadi module from various places in Bhopal. State police sources said those arrested are in the age group of 25 to 30 years. These are outlandish and radical.
They were arrested from a building located near Fatima Masjid in Bhopal. Sources said the operation was carried out in the early hours of Sunday. Apart from Bhopal, a search operation was also conducted in Karond area located in the outer circle of Bhopal.
During the search operation, the police recovered incriminating material including mobile phones, laptops and explosives from them. “Investigators have recovered jihadi literature and inflammatory material from them,” a source told -AnyTV News.
“Senior officials are questioning him at an undisclosed location,” sources said.
A senior police official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said it had been informed that those arrested were pro-Taliban and had dangerous plans. Further investigation is going on.
