New Delhi. If Virat Kohli is known for his enthusiasm, then Rohit Sharma is known for his sarcastic comments in his Mumbai style. This style of Rohit Sharma was seen again in the Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore match in IPL. When 38 year old Dinesh Karthik was mercilessly beating the Mumbai Indians bowlers, Rohit Sharma came close to him and said something which went viral.
Dinesh Karthik played a brilliant inning of 53 runs on 23 balls against Mumbai Indians on Thursday. He hit 5 fours and 4 sixes in this innings. The biggest feature of his innings was that from one end the RCB batsmen were coming and going on the lines of Ayaram-Gayaram and from the other end DK was scoring runs.
IPL 2024: Fifty in 17 balls, 199 runs in 93 balls… Mumbai Indians storm in Wankhede, RCB whitewashed…
During this innings, Dinesh Karthik hit 4 fours in one over of Akash Madhwal. Karthik hit all four fours between the wicketkeeper and third man. Seeing DK’s amazing shots, Rohit Sharma came to him and said – ‘We have to push him for World Cup selection. The World Cup is going on, the World Cup is on his mind. Well done DK, the World Cup has to be played now.

His fellow wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan was seen smiling at these comments of Rohit Sharma. Interestingly, Dinesh Karthik had made it to the Indian team for the last T20 World Cup only because of his performance in the IPL.
Dinesh Karthik is also in excellent form in the current IPL. DK has played 6 matches in the tournament so far. He has scored 143 runs in 5 innings of 6 matches at an average of 71.50. During this period his strike rate was 190.66.
Mumbai Indians defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 7 wickets in this match. The hero of this victory was Jasprit Bumrah. He dismissed 5 batsmen of RCB. With this, Jasprit Bumrah has become the first bowler to take 5 wickets in the tournament.
