New Delhi. Right-wing organization Hindu Sena on Monday approached the Delhi High Court seeking a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the communal violence in North West Delhi’s Jahangirpuri.
Speaking to -AnyTV News, advocate Vidlesh Agrawal, representing Hindu Sena in the court, alleged that there is a link between all similar incidents that took place in many parts of the country on the occasion of Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti (Hanuman’s birthday).
Terming the incident as an ‘act of PFI’, he alleged that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI was funding the breach of peace in India.
He said an organized method of collecting various arms and ammunition, including country-made guns, petrol bombs and other hand-made tools for rioting and arson, was adopted.
During the hearing, on the directions of the Chief Justice, Agarwal said that he would approach the court again with an appropriate Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the matter in a day or two.
In the petition, Hindu Sena has demanded that the status report be called for from Delhi Police and its investigation should be done by the NIA.
A fierce clash broke out between two groups of people from different communities during a Shobha Yatra procession on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area.
A total of 21 people have been arrested by the police so far and along with this two minors have also been arrested.
According to the police, Ansar, the main conspirator of the violence, was earlier found involved in two cases of attack and has been arrested repeatedly under preventive sections. Apart from this, he has been booked five times under the Gambling Act and the Arms Act.
It is officially learned that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Crime Branch has been constituted to probe the incident, comprising five Assistant Commissioners of Police and 10 inspectors.
