Thiruvananthapuram. The Kerala government has earned a staggering amount of Rs 350 crore by penalizing those who violate the Covid-19 protocol since the restrictions were imposed two years ago. According to state government figures, nearly one-fifth of the population of 3.30 crore has been punished for breaking safety rules.
The highest fine was collected from those who did not wear masks. Rs 214 crore has been recovered from more than 42.74 lakh people.
The balance amount was earned through those who stepped out without any valid reason.
