On the occasion of Mahashivratri, from early morning on Tuesday, chants of Om Namah Shivay, Bam Bam Bhole started being heard in the pagodas. People reached the Shiva temples across the district including the city from 4 in the morning and worshiped Lord Bholenath and performed Jalabhishek. Devotees of Shiva prayed to Lord Shiva for happiness and prosperity of the family by offering Belpatri, flowers, milk, sandalwood and water to Lord Bholenath.
There was a huge crowd of devotees at Shiva temples including Vankhandeshwar Mahadev, Mahadev of Madiya, Kale Mahadev, Pakodiya Mahadev, Gupteshwar Mahadev of Barauni located in Pitambara of the city. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, thousands of devotees reached and visited Vankhandeshwar Mahadev of Mahabharata situated at Pitambara Peeth. There was an influx of devotees from early morning till late evening. During this, attractive decorations were also done on the temple. On the occasion of Mahashivratri, all the Shiva temples were crowded with devotees for special worship and darshan. From four o’clock in the morning, women and men started reaching the temples after taking bath etc. Offered special worship to Lord Bholenath. This went on for the whole day. Kanya Bhoj, Bhandara and Prasadi were distributed at many places. Bhajan Kirtan and Akhand Ramayana recitation were organized in the temples. A grand fair was organized at Gupteshwar Mahadev located in Barauni. Cultural events were also held here in the evening along with Deepotsav. A Shiva procession was also taken out in the city. The festival of Mahashivratri was celebrated with great pomp at the ancient temple of Bhander in Bharoli. There was a huge crowd of devotees throughout the day.
Crowd of Kanwariyas gathered in Unav Balaji
On the holy festival of Mahashivratri in Unav Balaji, the devotees who brought Kanwar performed water anointing of Balaji Maharaj. After the consecration, the Kanwariyas who came after walking one hundred and fifty kilometers opened their brat after eating their fruit. Later, Bhajan Kirtan was organized. After walking from Lakara UP, first to Sevdha Sankuan, then walking from there to Una, after performing Jalabhishek of Bhole Baba, Shiva devotees returned to their respective homes singing hymns.
Thousands of devotees reached Ereshwar Mahadev in Sevdha
This time on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival, there was a ruckus in Sevadha Nagar for the last one week. Kanwar decoration stalls were also set up in hundreds. At the same time, Prasad was also organized for the Kanwariyas by the enlightened people of the city with a sense of service. From Tuesday morning, female and male devotees reached the temples in Sevadha and performed the abhishek of Lord Shiva. On this occasion, people had to face a lot of difficulties in traffic on the ancient small bridge. In the event of a jam, people stood on both sides of the bridge for half an hour. At the same time, with the intervention of the police, the jam was opened every time. SDM Anurag Ningwal and SDOP Upendra Dixit were keeping a constant vigil to ensure that the Kanwariyas do not face any problem. A huge crowd of devotees reached the Vankhandeshwar and Airareshwar Mahadev temples of Sevadha. At the same time, a Shiva procession was taken out on Neelkanth Mahadev. A grand procession of Lord Neelkanth Mahadev came out from Bajaria Maholla. In which people also enjoyed women’s music along with the evacuation.
Devotees thronging Basai’s Bhairareshwar
Devotees thronged the Bhairareshwar temple located on the Betwa river, a famous pilgrimage site in the Basai region, since 4 in the morning for the darshan of Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees reached for darshan.
In Hasanpur village, all the villagers together took out the Shiva tableau. After that Vinnayaki was taken out in the whole village.
The villagers who became baraatis danced a lot. District representative Mahendra Tiwari welcomed this procession. Basai resident Pt. Arvind Tiwari completed the marriage rituals by reciting the mantras. The villagers solemnized the marriage of Shiva with great enthusiasm. On the other hand, like every year at Siddheshwar temple of Jaitpur, this year also a grand fair was organized at Siddheshwar temple.
Shiva devotees reached the Gaupurush temple of Indergarh
On the occasion of Mahashivratri festival in Indergarh, there was a ruckus on the Go Purush Mahadev and Koteshwar Mahadev temples of the city. At the same time, Prasad was also organized for the Kanwariyas by the enlightened people of the city with a sense of service. Shiva’s procession came out from the Bawri Sarkar temple on Chaura Road, which reached the Khedapati Sarkar temple on Gwalior Road. Where Shiva Parvati got married. Akhand Ramayana recitation and Yagya were organized by the priest Ajay Mishra at the Go Purush temple located on Datia Road. From Tuesday morning, devotees reached the temples and performed abhishek to Lord Shiva. Police station in-charge Parmanand Sharma kept police arrangements at Shiv temples.
