New Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh on Sunday alleged that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had opposed the foreign travel of the government witness on whose testimony Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in the excise policy case. Singh questioned the agency’s motive in doing so and cited in support a media report, according to which the Enforcement Directorate had investigated the foreign travel of P. Sarat Chandra Reddy, Non-Executive Director of Hyderabad-based Aurobindo Pharma. This was opposed in a court three months before Kejriwal’s arrest.
There has been no immediate reaction from the ED regarding the allegation. Singh asked, ‘Interestingly, the ED has opposed the foreign travel of its witness Sharat Reddy on the grounds that he cannot return to India to support the case. How will he come when you have made him write a false statement? Why would he be involved in your investigation? And even if there is, what evidence will they give against Kejriwal ji when they do not have any evidence?
Ayodhya’s Ramnavmi will be special, Ramlala will be offered 111111 kg laddus, 50 lakh devotees will witness it.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Singh is also an accused in the scam related to excise policy. He urged the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the case and consider “how a fabricated, baseless case was made out.” The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday Kejriwal’s plea against the High Court order which upheld his arrest in a money laundering case related to the alleged excise policy scam.
The federal agency had arrested Kejriwal on March 21 in a money laundering case, hours after the High Court refused to grant him protection from punitive action. He is in judicial custody till April 15 and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
