Operation Ganga’s second flight AI1942 carrying 250 civilians from Romania’s capital Bucharest landed at Delhi airport at 2:45 pm on Saturday.
The third flight AI1940 took off from the Hungarian capital Budapest carrying 240 citizens, it reached Delhi at 9:20 am on Sunday. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had told that the fourth flight has also left 198 Indians from Bucharest for Delhi. Earlier, 219 Indians were brought to Mumbai on Saturday night in AI 1944 flight.
Two more flights are also proposed for Sunday as the fifth and sixth evacuation, departing from Bucharest and Budapest. The airspace in Ukraine was closed after the Russian attack, preventing the return of the Indians. The Government of India has started the mission of evacuating the stranded citizens by crossing the border of Hungary and Romania under Operation Ganga from Saturday.
Government will not rest till safe return: Scindia
