Pakistan is organizing a meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Islamabad on March 22 and 23. According to Pakistani media reports, the Imran Khan government has invited the Foreign Minister of China as a ‘special guest’ in this meeting.
Wang Yi will address the meeting
Let us tell you that this is the second OIC meeting of the OIC organized by Pakistan in the last three months. In December 2022, Pakistan also organized a meeting on the Afghanistan issue. The Express Tribune reported that Wang Yi will address the OIC foreign ministers’ conference as a special guest. The conference is scheduled for March 22 and 23. At least 48 OIC foreign ministers from 57 countries have so far confirmed their participation.
China continues to harass Uighur Muslims
Let us tell you that China is continuously harassing Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang. According to reports, the Chinese government has set up internment camps in Xinjiang province, where local ethnic minorities, the Uighurs and those who disagree with the Chinese government, are imprisoned without trial.
In October 2021, 43 countries around the world reprimanded China for atrocities against Uighur Muslims. According to a United Nations report, 43 countries called on China to “ensure full respect for the rule of law” to the Muslim Uighur community in Xinjiang.
Beijing has long denied allegations of atrocities on Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang. Now Pakistan is going to give such a platform to China from where China can take its propaganda about Uighur Muslims to Muslim countries.
